Episode #1: Tenkaichi Budokai! The Story Begins

A well dressed man adjusts his sunglasses. He raises his arm with a, "ARE YOU READY!!!"

His enthusiasm excites a crowd of viewers around.

This is the Tenkaichi Budokai; a tournament hosted every year. The subject of competition? Martial Arts. A test of mettle for those who have trained their bodies over the years.

The prize? A hefty sum of Zeni! The world's currency.

On this island was a large ring where the fighters would fight. A safe distance away were the stands; a place for the audience to watch as the battles commenced.

The audience got quiet.

"Alright!!!" The announcer shouted, pumped for what was next, "Then it's time to bring out the contestants in this years Tournament!"

And so it was. One by one the participants revealed themselves from the building in the back. A few were more noticeable than the rest.

Shoku stood in the ring lined up with the other fighters dressed in an outfit that didn't look much for fighting, more like normal clothes. He has a normal black jacket that was made out of a material that that saiyans used, Same with his sweat pants and his boots under his sleeves he wore long wrist bands with gray looking fingerless gloves. He also had a head band that was red and tied up with the ends hanging and he wear a white t-shirt, his arms were crossed as he had a serious look on his face.

In the lineup of fighters stands a young man with white hair and Violet eyes, dressed in a casual outfit with a light blue undershirt and a purple long coat. black sweat pants and a brown belt with a yellow buckle.

he had his hands in his coat pockets and was leaning back slightly, giving off a casual attitude.

"They let children enter these things," a person in the audience asked pointing towards the smallest looking of the line.

"Don't count the small fry out. You haven't been to one of these things before have you?"


The boy in question looked around excited at the competition. He passed his hand through his long, spiky, black hair with a big smile. His outfit was so very green complimenting his hair's green tips. A green jacket edged with red lining. Green short shorts and green laced boots. He opened his hazel eyes wide, "Alright! I'm so ready for this."

[Gon Freeces]

Next to him was an older teen who was adjusting his straw hat. He had a smile as well agreeing with Gon. He wore a sleeveless red vest, blue trousers, and sandals.

[Monkey D. Luffy]

On Gon's other side where two characters with similar short, spiky hair styles. One was blond; wearing an orange and black jacket, with orange pants and blue bandana and sandals.

[Naruto Uzumaki]

The other had bright orange hair; wearing a plain gray blazer with matching pants, a black undershirt, and plain old black shoes.

[Ichigo Kurosaki]

At the beginning of the line was a young man with pink hair waved to one side. He sported an open, gold-trimmed, black waistcoat; his bare chest exposed. He also had a similar colored cloth around his waist that reached his knees, held by a leather brown belt with an oval-shaped silver buckle. White knee-length trousers with black ribbon ties, a thick black wristband on his left wrist, black open-toed sandals and a scale-patterned scarf.
"I'm getting fired-up," a puff of fire seemingly sparks from his gritted teeth.

[Natsu Dragneel]

And lastly at the very end was the oldest contestant. She had long, faded purple hair. She wore a short black vest which she rested her hands in. A light gray shirt with a "死" symbol on it. Dark gray pants and purple sneakers. Probably her most notable feature was her very faded skin. It was a mix between tanned and pale. She looked dead.
"Hmm..."

[Charon]

The fighters are sent back to the building and the announcer jumps onto the arena microphone raised, "Now that you've met the contestants, it's time to get this tournament underway," He cleared his throat, "In the back these brave fighters drew lots to determine the match-ups! And the results are in, so lets see what battle we're in for!"

The announcer takes out a slip of paper and raises it to the sky, "Let's go!!"

"The first match is: Nero Vs Ichigo!"

Nero smirked as the announcer called his name "so i get to go first then? great" he said as he took his hands out of his pockets and slowly walked to his place in the ring

"Hmph..." Ichigo stepped out of the building, towards the ring, "These guys are a bit too excited."

He stretched his neck stopping at one side of the ring. A few moments passed before he turned to his opponent, keeping quiet and surveying the young Nero.

"It looks like both are raring to go at it!!" The announcer started slowly exiting the stage, "Now are you both ready?!"

(This isn't rushed I swear..)

Ichigo nods still observing Nero, being sure to adjust himself as he gets ready.

Nero nods to the announcer and looks back at Ichigo

"Give it your best!!" he says with a smirk on his face as he slowly gets into his fighting stance

"well then!!" the announcer says adjusting his shades "Let the first match, BEGIN!!"

as soon as the announcer says this Nero takes off towards Ichigo, dashing across the stage. he throws a punch with his right as he lunges, Ichigo leans out of the way just in time, as soon as he does so Nero adjusts and goes for a Leg sweep, Ichigo jumps to avoid it, landing several feet backwards

"Heh!" Nero lunged forth with another strike. Just like before, the attack was easily dodged. Then another one, and another, and so forth, "Is that all you're going to do?!"

"That depends. Are you going to stop being predictable?"

"Eh?"

The two stopped for a moment observing one another. Nero took a step before charging in again. A small exchange began. This time Nero was being more tactical with his movements, Ichigo now doing more than just dodge. Nero managed to catch Ichigo off guard and send him back!

"That's more like it."

The white-hared teen charged again ready to continue. Ichigo's body blurred and disappeared in response; quickly reappearing behind Nero. Nero turned just enough to meet Ichigo's fist with his arm to guard. For a moment the two held this position. "That's a nice trick," Nero said.

"That wasn't anything interesting, really," Ichigo pulled away quickly, turning with the momentum into furious kick! Nero launched his arms in response, wrapping around the oncoming leg. Quickly spinning around beginning to build power; Nero released his hold and threw Ichigo away, "Take that!"

The young adult didn't falter! He quickly recovered, forcing his current momentum to work for him as he broke in mid air, safely landing at the edge of the ring.


"Whoa!!! I'm so astounded by this amazing fight I haven't been able to commentate! But this is the perfect time to restate the fact that if a contestant touches the ground outside of the ring, that's a Disqualification!!" The announcer shouted, clearly excited for the fight to continue.

Shoku watched the fight with his arms crossed, he wasn't really impressed by the fight.

"This fight is interesting but they move so slow to me...."

He spoke to himself as others don't hear him say it out loud, he then looks at his opponent he will be fighting after Nero and Ichigo gets done.

"Natsu Dragoneel huh?"

he stared at Natsu for a moment then focused on the fight to scan for openings he can use in his fight. He then sees the fight was getting intense between the two fighters, his opinion changed on Nero and Ichigo.

"Well they do seem like strong and interesting people....I might want to fight them some day, gah... that's just my saiyan blood talking"

Both fighters stared at eachother, practically daring the other to make a move for what felt like several tense minutes finally

Nero: heh so you're pretty fast right? can you keep up with this?

a faint purple glow quickly eminates from Nero before he takes off in a flash of purple light leaving a trail of energy as he goes

Ichigo: ??!!!

ichigo looks to his left just in time to see an attack from Nero coming His body blurs as he dissapears, and Nero takes off again. they both dash around the ring Attacks colliding all over before finally they both meet in the middle of the ring

Nero comes out of his Light dash with a flying kick Ichigo barely has time to put up his arms in time to guard, the impact knocking him down

Shoku: He started to feel hungry then he started to stretch a bit and heads to the cafeteria "I think I'll go eat like a king now" as he walked passed Natsu he offered him to join him for some food."Would you like to eat before our match?" he waited for his reply.

Natsu: He was too excited in the match he turned down Shoku but then napped back and spoke"Oh yeah that sounds great!" He ran off to the cafeteria.

Shoku: he chuckled a bit then followed Natsu"This I wonder if I can beat him in an eating contest" he walks off to the cafeteria.

Ichigo quickly rose from the ground into a readied position, "I see. Then this will be the finale," both he and Nero sharpened their stances. Ichigo's body began to glow just like Nero's had before. Then there was a pause.

"So you could do something like that too," Nero said, his own body flaring up purple.

"Amazing! I didn't expect something like this early on! Both fighters are using their energy like true martial artists! These two aren't holding back it seems!"

Ichigo raised his arm slightly, fingers extended out. Nero's stance began to change as well.

The announcer's eyes widened. He knew what this was! The two were about to, for that moment, unleash their might for one final attack. Each fighter watched the other. Victory required precision. Suspense spread like butter and spectators gazed in awe.

Both took a step.

"Getsuga---!" Ichigo began. His energy visibly surged into his arm. A twinge of his energy crossed the tips of his fingers, forming a "T" for a quick moment, "Tenshou!!!"

Nero himself let out a mighty shout to show his own power, energy flaring. He began to swing his arms as if wielding a sword, "Take this!"

The audience and announcer gasped as the attacks collided together.

The fighters' energy clashed in the center, resulting in an orb of light. The ground shook and the arena floor began to crack. Shockwaves parsed outward each with varying degree of power. Shortly the light expanded in a quick moment, blinding the views.

Crash!!!

And then it was over...

Minutes passed since the end of the struggle. All was silent, until, "I...Incredible, folks! The winner is...Nero!"

In the ring it was clearly visible that only one fighter was standing tall. The crowd cheered in delight, though they would have no matter the outcome. This was still only the first match...

[Winner: Nero]

Ichigo scratched the ground with his fingers, indicating he was conscious at this moment, "Huh. Interesting. At the last second."

Begin Flashback
Nero smirked. His movement was quick, but calculated. Ichigo's eyes widened as his arm was being...redirected?!

His Getsuga Tenshou launched as a projectile, piercing the ground until it made its eventual stop at the barrier between the arena and the audience. (Which was at this point protected by energy shielding)

End Flashback

"At the last second he parried my attack. Came up with a solution on the spot," He struggled to rise, "I know I felt it. His inexperience was clear, yet he was able to do something like that."

"You may become a great swordsman one day," Now on his feet, Ichigo began to turn and walk away.

Just inside the door to the contestants' building was Charon. Held up to her face was a stick that had a single Dango. She bit down on the stick, sliding the sweet into her mouth; chewing for a moment before swallowing.

"They think he was going all out," she paused and watched Ichigo who walked closer with a calm smile, "But of course you were holding back greatly, weren't you?"

Ichigo stopped just in front of her, "..."

Once Shoku and Natsu returned from eating the match was already over he had a chicken bone in his mouth as he then spits it out of his mouth then catches it in his hand. He then sets it down in the trash. He looked to the two people that were fighting earlier as he felt full of excitement wanting to battle his opponent so badly he could almost taste it. He then snaps out of his battle crave and looked to Natsu.

"So Natsu how do you think the other fights will go from here?"

Natsu looked to Shoku and smiled very big and happy, he punched his fist as fire appeared a bit.

"I don't know man but I'm very fired up now for when we fight so you better go all out!"

Shoku Chuckled a bit as he can see that he's not the only one wanting to fight soon, he then looks back towards the door as he could see two people that look around the same age or younger than him in the room.

"They don't look like they should be here but then again appearances can be very deceiving..."

Nero walked back to the contestants building, and slumped up against a wall.

"phew" he thought to himself, "i didint actually think i would be able to pull that off..."

he slid down untill he was sitting against the wall, he needed to rest after that battle
